Ok so everyone in the damn world knows my Macbook has a trojan virus or something and its spamming peoples facebook pages... I'm not sure WTF is going on nor do I know how to get rid of it. If this were a PC I'd be all set and the problem would be taken care of.
So far I've updated to the latest "security" package from Apple for what its worth and ran a huge update for OS X. I also ran MacScan and removed several tracking cookies and one trojan. When this started happening again today I cleared all internet data, cookies, cache, etc... and not sure if that did the trick or not but it probably didn't. Whats the best solution to this? Is this something related to my computer, someone hacking my FB account, or both? |

Change your FB password and be mindful of the links you click and sites you go to. There are some malicious sites that load hidden iframes with some sneaky code that will try to run a Facebook url. Also, if you added any other to your Facebook, one of those might have been compromised.

Actually this started happening right after adding a friend the other day... changed my password last night after it started spamming again and updated all security preferences for what its worth.

This is probably less of a mac problem and more of a web/facebook attack problem.

This is probably less of a mac problem and more of a greedy jewfro problem.
Never click links that promise free anything.

Links from facebook can be somewhat dangerous at that....especially the ones that require you to re-log on and resemble a real looking Facebook page. They can also require you to fill in personal information about yourself...and then the person or company that gets it...sells it to info companies on the web for money. Then, your personal info...anything somebody wants to find out about, can also be purchased through said company. So....only visit links you trust....from people you trust. I learned the lesson before myself.
